I have always been on the lookout for a see-through body Fender Stratocaster after watching Nile Rodgers play one while performing live with Chic back in the 70’s. As far as I know, Fender Musical Instruments does not make a Stratocaster with a clear acrylic body. I recently decided to build one myself after seeing a buy-it-now generic Strat on Ebay for $199.00. I purchased the guitar, removed all the parts from the body and replaced them with genuine Fender parts. The pickup set is Genuine Fender Vintage Pickups . The body is quite heavy, but my plan is to play it only for filming EBM music tutorials in which I will be sitting. This guitar plays exceptionally well, with string action set very close to the neck for easy playing all the way up the neck. Since there is no wood in the body to mellow the sound, it has a bright, clear stringy sound with a strong percussive attack, which sounds really good in  R&B and funk music.
