    • So glad to hear from you Alex! This made my day! I pray that my postings help folks like you to escape the many troubles of this world through sharing my love for music! Thanks for hanging out with me on YouTube, and as I say to many of my fans: “If Jesus had not been there for me, I could not be here for you!” God bless you my friend! More to come!

  6. I write music books and am a composer/ improvisational artist…who recently began study of guitar.

Eric Blackmon’s videos and other teaching materials are the easiest to understand, and most accessible I’ve come across…and I’ve seen most.

I often advise students…find easy ways to learn…it works best…and you’ll enjoy it more.

    Kudos to Blackmon!!!

    • Hi David! Thanks so much for the kind words. I teach students of all ages in my studio every day, and that is where my approach is developed. I believe that anytime someone doesn’t get it, there must be an easier way that it can’t be explained. And somehow we always find it. I do what I can to convey that belief in my videos. Thanks so much for watching my channel! MORE TO COME!

I’m a 73 year old guitar player been playing since I was 10. Always loved that riff in the Horse. Looked it up on Utube and there you are doing it. Thank you so much Eric! Always liked that tune. Takes me back!😀

  8. Virgil Thomas

Just going through your Beginner Soloing With The Pentatonic Scale On Guitar With Backing Track Lesson. Super helpful! So well explained and demonstrated. Thanks very much!

  9. Eric, I love the way you teach and break it down slowly. If possible can you please teach the song by the temptations called “GET READY”. I learn better by your teaching because you not only show where you finger positioning is but also show how it is written on the music sheet, which gives a better music knowledge looking at it on sheet music as well.
Thank you for your style of teaching.

  10. Eric, You are as cool as they come. Thanks for the videos. I am a new YT subscriber and I really enjoy your videos. I have always loved funk. I hope you do more Kool & The Gang. Emergency, Misled and Tonight have some really great guitar. Again, thank you!

  11. Eric, I really enjoy watching your videos. I am 61 and just started learning to play about a year ago and found you on YouTube. You have helped me a lot. Thanks you.

  12. Dear Eric, I was wondering whether or not I should continue to pursue playing the bass wholeheartedly and for how long. Then I saw your age. What an inspiration that was to me!!

I also saw your kindness, patience, generosity and grace that came so freely from your heart. From a heart that loves Jesus!!

Great blessings, favour and grace upon you and your loved ones!!

    • Hi Chris! Thanks for the kind words! I will be 70 this coming December and I decided to add alto sax to my other 5 instruments that I teach. I am learning new things about music every day and believe that anyone else can too. Just keep going and it will happen! Thanks so much for watching my channel and God bless!

      • Happy and a very blessed birthday Eric!! 70 years and still going STRONG! On this very special and happy day, I pray that Jesus’ favour, joy, strength, grace and abundant love will fill you up to overflowing to your family, grandchildren, family, neighbours, friends, students, online subscribers and visitors.

I thank God for every remembrance of you and for the many lives that you have touched. Great is your reward in heaven brother!!

Your encouragement has spurred me on since the last time you wrote as I have even started taking up the lead guitar!!

        Bless you brother, bless you.
